Pixelated Quilts:
Looks complicated. Isn't.
October 6th / only $15

Pixelated quilts are much simpler than they look.

Brooke from Brooke’s Bitchin’ Stitches likes to describe them as Legos with fabric—and in this workshop, she’s going to show us how they work.

You’ll get a peek behind the scenes at the tools Brooke uses for pixelated quilting, how she keeps everything organized, and how she takes a design from a bunch of little pieces to a finished quilt.

And then comes the really fun part…

A trunk show of Brooke’s pixelated quilts!

You’ll see quilts she’s designed herself, hear a little about how they came together, and probably leave with a whole list of things you’re suddenly itching to try.

If you can sew squares together, you can explore pixel quilting.

Come see how it’s done!

What You'll Get From This Workshop

Brooke is taking us behind the scenes of pixelated quilting and sharing the things that make the process easier.

  • Brooke’s favorite tools for pixelated quilting
  • How she uses those tools while working on a quilt
  • Ways to keep lots of little pieces organized
  • How pixelated designs come together one section at a time
  • Tips that make these impressive-looking quilts much more manageable
  • Brooke’s own process for creating and sewing her designs

Plus, we’ll finish with a trunk show of Brooke’s pixelated quilts so you can see just how much you can do with this technique.

You don’t need fancy piecing skills. You just need to know how to sew a straight seam.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Workshop with Brooke / Bitchin’ Stitches

Brooke is the quilter and designer behind Brooke’s Bitchin’ Stitches, where she creates colorful, approachable pixelated quilt patterns.

By day, she’s a mechanical engineer and project manager—which might explain why she’s so good at taking something that looks complicated and breaking it down into manageable pieces!

Brooke is especially known for her pixelated Jeep quilts and her Home series featuring all 50 states. Her goal is to create patterns that look impressive without requiring complicated quilting techniques.

She describes pixelated quilting as “Legos with fabric,” and that’s exactly what she’ll be showing us during this workshop: how simple pieces can come together to make something pretty amazing.

WORKSHOP FAQ'S

Do I need to prepare anything or buy special materials in advance?

There will be a materials list posted prior to the workshop dates, but they are not required. You can bring your materials and give your hand at trying the technique, or you can watch the workshop and afterwards re-watch while exploring it yourself.

What if I can’t attend the live session?

No worries if you can’t make the live session—the recording will be available within 24 hours of the workshop so you can watch and learn at your convenience. Plus, you are able to grab your supplies and stop and start as you watch while trying out whatever is being taught.

Do I already need to know this technique?

No! This is what is great about Patchworkers Plus. We bring the guests and put on workshops allowing you to explore and try out new things, without the travel and extra teacher fees. Come participate live, watch the replay and give what’s taught a try on your own terms – surrounded by a community of support when you need it.

What else do I get with a PLUS membership?

SO MUCH. In addition to the ever-growing library of workshops available on-demand, we offer sewing days, a book club, show & tell evening, and more quilty cheer-leading supporting you than you’ll know what to do with!

I’m pretty shy and not comfortable being on camera or speaking up in groups.

It takes everyone a few minutes to get settled and used to sharing and being on camera. You are not alone in this hesitation. It is optional, but we do encourage you to try it. It really helps with building friendships and especially wonderful when it’s show and tell time as the inspiration from others projects and progress is a treat you don’t want to miss out on.

I’m not great with technology. What if I have trouble joining the workshop?

I completely understand that technology can be a bit daunting. That’s why I’ll provide clear, easy-to-follow instructions for joining the workshop. And if any issues come up, I’ll be here to help you out. Ensuring you have a smooth experience is my top priority.

One of the benefits of joining the membership earlier rather than later is that you lock in the cost at which you join. As the pattern and technique library grows and the value grows, the cost of the membership may increase – but YOUR monthly cost will stay the same as long as your payments are in good standing and you have not cancelled.
