Intrigued by Hawaiian Applique?
Not sure how to get started?
Join us for these two interactive workshops led by talented quilters – Liz and Kathy in September and October. Participants are invited to come and watch the magic happen in the world of Hawaiian Applique. You’ll have two opportunities to learn a trick or two, give yourself a try at this quilt technique and possibly fall in love with your finished project.
If you have already explored this technique, this is the perfect opportunity to share your project or get inspired again to finish it.

THE DETAILS – WORKSHOP with Kathy
Liz Whitehead is an experienced quilter and photographer from Albuquerque, New Mexico.
With over 10 years of quilting experience, she specializes in designing unique quilt patterns and has won recognition, such as placing 4th in the Art Quilts Category at the 2019 Albuquerque Fiber Arts Fiesta.
Liz has a strong passion for creativity, both in quilting and photography, and shares her designs through her website, Windmill Quilts.
Her expertise in quilting makes her well-suited for teaching specialized classes, including Hawaiian appliqué.
I love all forms of quilting and love making quilts from start to finish. My great grandmother was a quilter. I can remember walking into her house, and it seems like there was always a quilt set up.
My mother also quilted. She would hand quilt and I remember her having neighbors who would come over and help. My siblings and I would play under the quilt and pretend that it was our house.
I love to quilt and I love to share my quilts with others.
Do I need to prepare anything or buy special materials in advance?
There will be a materials list posted prior to the workshop dates, but they are not required. You can bring your materials and give your hand at trying the technique, or you can watch the workshop and afterwards re-watch while exploring it yourself.
What if I can’t attend the live session?
No worries if you can’t make the live session—the recording will be available within 24 hours of the workshop so you can watch and learn at your convenience. Plus, you are able to grab your supplies and stop and start as you watch while trying out whatever is being taught.
Do I already need to know this technique?
No! This is what is great about Patchworkers Plus. We bring the guests and put on workshops allowing you to explore and try out new things, without the travel and extra teacher fees. Come participate live, watch the replay and give what’s taught a try on your own terms – surrounded by a community of support when you need it.
What else do I get with a PLUS membership?
SO MUCH. In addition to the ever-growing library of workshops available on-demand, we offer sewing days, a book club, show & tell evening, and more quilty cheer-leading supporting you than you’ll know what to do with!
I’m pretty shy and not comfortable being on camera or speaking up in groups.
It takes everyone a few minutes to get settled and used to sharing and being on camera. You are not alone in this hesitation. It is optional, but we do encourage you to try it. It really helps with building friendships and especially wonderful when it’s show and tell time as the inspiration from others projects and progress is a treat you don’t want to miss out on.
I’m not great with technology. What if I have trouble joining the workshop?
I completely understand that technology can be a bit daunting. That’s why I’ll provide clear, easy-to-follow instructions for joining the workshop. And if any issues come up, I’ll be here to help you out. Ensuring you have a smooth experience is my top priority.
Time to dig out from under your fabric piles and notion collections. Learn all about color on your walls, making your own work stations and organizing everything from fabric to Accuquilt dies.
Monika takes us behind the scenes on how she uses her fabric scraps! Learn how to sort, organize and be ready for inspiration on how this can work for you.
Get ready to explore all the types of batting, how it’s made and what you’ll want to try out on your next project. You’ll see batting in a whole new light.
Cotton can be from anywhere – especially from vintage sheets. Join Kelly as she walks through her process of finding the fun prints, caring for them and using them in quilts.
If you’re looking for an online group of quilters who are passionate about fabric, beautiful quilts, and having fun sewing, then you’ve come to the right place!
Our members are some of the most talented and friendly people you’ll ever meet, and we’re always happy to welcome new members into our community.
So whether you’re just getting started with quilting or you’re a seasoned pro, we hope you’ll join us and see what all the fuss is about!
After you join, you’ll have full access to everything. This allows you to pick and choose what you’d like to sew and participate in.
We offer different days and times for our meet ups and sew days, plus if you just can’t make it, you can catch the replay as our designer chats and meetups are recorded.
The patterns inside the quilting community are designed for any level of quilter.
No matter your experience or if you just started quilting, our patterns include diagrams for following along and some video tutorials walking you step by step so you are able to finish what you start.
There are no additional costs after joining. In fact, we encourage you to use your stash! There are no additional kits or supplies needed other than you basic quilting tools.
We share exactly what you need to begin and how to use what you already have in your quit room.
This is whey I began the quilting community – so it’s flexible to YOUR schedule.
Many of our members have moved during their membership and nothing changes! They are still able to connect, share and some have even found that they are closer to other members and have met up in real life!
Other members have still popped in to attend our meetups and show & tells even though they were at a retreat or in a hotel. We love that no matter where you are or what you’re doing, you are still able to participate.
Members may cancel their subscription at any time. You will still have access to your content until the end of the current billing cycle.
You’ll find instructions for setting up you zoom connection for our meetups as well as how to bookmark or save the site, save the patterns and more.
Patchworkers Plus+ is a monthly or yearly subscription to a growing library of classes, a community of supportive creatives, and access to Becky as your teacher. Payments are automatically deducted from the payment method you choose at sign-up on the same date every month until a member cancels. Once a member cancels, all member benefits end.
Please note that due to the nature of digital products, payments are non-refundable.
When a member cancels, access to member benefits and content ends, and the cost to rejoin will be at the current membership cost (your locked in rate will be lost), and you will only be able to rejoin during the next enrollment.

One of the benefits of joining the membership earlier rather than later is that you lock in the cost at which you join. As the pattern and technique library grows and the value grows, the cost of the membership may increase – but YOUR monthly cost will stay the same as long as your payments are in good standing and you have not cancelled.
What else do I get when I join Patchworkers Plus?
